The two owners are Nathan Dippie and Gary Dennis, both have huge personalities and want to HELP put theatre and art to the top of the educational agenda.

Nathan Dippie

Nathan is 23 and has been working in theatre from a very young age dancing ballet, tap, modern and jazz from 9-18. He also began by joining local youth groups and doing pantomimes and small scale local musicals, as he grew older his love for the performing arts grew with him. His credits as an actor include Romeo (Romeo and Juliet, The Edge Theatre), Neville Craven (Secret Garden, The Place Theatre), Cantona (United the Musical (Original musical, Theatre on the Steps), Danny (Grease, Oakengates theatre) As well as many others. Nathan does not only act he aids in the production of shows from Producer to assistant Director these include, producer and assistant-director for the Highly successful show Into the Woods with The Studio (Little Theatre Donnington). Assistant director in Scrooge (The Place, TADLOP). After talking to teachers, children and seeing the Welsh assemblies changes to the Key stage 1 curriculum to a more active learning approach, we decided that now was the best time for HELP to start, I have a massive passion for youth development, I like to watch young people grow and blossom into the capable, productive and unique members of society they are destined to become. However without proper guidance and support these young people can easily loose their way with the problems and nuances of today's society, this is why we are focused and determined to help young people understand that the decisions they make regarding, drugs, alcohol, sex, employment, education etc, are important and to ensure the they know and understand the choices they have. All in all I want to help young people and the most effective way that I can contribute is to produce active and innovative shows and workshops with high levels of interaction to aid in active learning and the messages and important facts of life.

I have also had training in Health and Safety which means that when we are touring all health and safety aspects are fully understood assessed and acted upon. I have also had a role in quality which means I understand the importance of good high quality products and services and the need for continual improvement, so please don't hesitate to comment as I take all comments good and bad and try and work them to aid in the development and improvement of our pieces.

Gary Dennis

Gary is 23 and has graduated from Trinity College, Carmarthen with a BA Honours in Theatre studies. During his time there he learnt a lot about theatre but fell in love with Theatre In Education. "I believe that theatre is such a great way to communicate and especially with children. There are so many aspects of life that we need children to understand and at such an early age it is not always easy to portray all the facts. Educational theatre is such a great way to teach children about so many things that it is a shame that we cannot do it more often. T.I.E is especially useful when teaching students about difficult subjects such as drugs, sex education and healthy living. These subjects were preached to me at school not taught and this is something I want to change through using theatre, if portrayed in an equal light than students can see the risks as well as the benefits from acting a certain way rather than just being told how to act." Gary is also very passionate about giving young, aspiring actors and actresses the chance to gain some professional experience through the 'Young Actors' programme that he has set up. This programme lets recent graduates as well as 3rd year theatre and acting students get started in their careers.

Gary started acting at the age of 13 when he was in the musical 'Grease' and from there on he knew his future lied in the industry. Never wanting to settle for knowledge in one particular area Gary explored the works and techniques of several practitioners throughout his studies including Stanislavski, Brecht and Artaud. At 14 Gary joined the Haymarket Youth Theatre group and was given the lead in Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale playing King Leontes. He then played Crookfinger Jake in Brecht's The Threepenny Opera the following year. After this he became very interested in youth theatre and decided to become more involved. He helped many of the younger age groups at the Haymarket as well as returning to his old Secondary school to help in productions. Whilst studying Gary was involved in many productions, some being part of the course and some being in his spare time. His main show being Arthur Miller's A View From The Bridge in which he played Mr. Alfieri, co-produced and co-directed it also. Gary was also part of a contemporary male dance group for 18 months called 'Voltere' which produced several pieces of physical theatre based dance.
