S C H O O L S For more information please complete form at bottom at this page We can provide three main services for schools and colleges they are Shows, workshops and classes. I shall describe each one in turn
· · Workshops: These are aimed at smaller groups than full out shows. Workshops are aimed to promote imagination and creative and analytical thinking. They work on the basis of improvisation around a subject you wish us to discuss/examine. We will include some set scenes if this is appropriate and aid and guide discussions. We will promote young people to form their own opinions yet be open to others. These can be very useful for developing a fun and unusual approach to an apparently dull subject. We can create worksheets and follow up plans to continue with what was learnt. · Classes: These can be supplied to a school either after school or during lunch breaks. These can be great extra curricula activities which will help children develop extra skill sets. The classes we supply are very age dependent as we all realize that different age groups learn more effectively in different methods. However they do have a common aim, these include increasing skills in communication, team building, confidence, inclusion, trust and ultimately to be fun. For the younger age groups we will set out to achieve our goals via structured play, games and improvisation, finally moving on to small simple scripts in key stages 2. These classes will be held by professional actors. We will bring in freelance staff to do special classes such as movement, ensemble singing, physical theatre and mask work. For older students of secondary school and college age we will focus on the methods of acting and types and genres of theatre from musicals to classical and absurd theatre. We will work closely with students to promote a sense of belonging and unity and to help develop team work and trust among the group. Again they will have opportunity to work with guest directors, set designers and choreographers to compliment there growth in performing.
